7 Facts Behind the Scenes at Moody Publishers

September 27, 2011 2 Comments
  • We publish books in over 70 languages. This year we installed a world map covering the wall in our conference room, as a constant reminder of our commitment to reaching the world for Christ!
  • At Christmas time, we send all our authors Christmas cards!
  • In 2002, we officially changed our name from Moody Press to Moody Publishers.

  • For each new title, four to six paper samples are considered for the final printing, and the following are all factors taken into consideration: who will use this book, how expensive the book will be, whether or not the book will be read once or referenced over and over, the color of the cover, etc.
  • We publish an average of 60 books per year.
  • From the time an author is signed on with Moody Publishers to the release date of the finished and polished new book, a good guideline for this process is about two years of writing, editing, proofreading, designing, etc.

I am writing a book regarding the Blblically timely subject of deception in the emerging church and its roots deep into the New Age/New Spirituality movement. I am writing as one who has been deceived in the emerging church, even though I’ve spent a lifetime of following Christ. I never quite understood how the deception spoken of in the Word of God for the end times could be so insidious and difficult to pinpoint. After months of constant research, I’m writing my manuscript in a blog format so as to give my readers time to assimilate the incredible information, and also to provide a personal couch of human interest and identification. I’m requesting information from Moody Publishers regarding manuscript proposal criteria. Thank you for responding to my request.
